Here we go sweeties, new challenge at Anything but a card blog, and my take as a new DT member. As you can read in the title the challenge is about how some of us goes into the autumn, while our friends on the other side of the Globe closing up to spring time. How lucky we are that we have 4 seasons and each one of them has its own beauty, magic or wonder. One learns to appreciate them if needs to live for example in a tropical environment where it’s impossible to enjoy a white winter. But let’s talk about the autumn and spring now, please give a warm welcome to my whimsical time traveler: And here are some details to you sweeties: first the legs are two wooden sticks, painted with white gesso and decorated with wash tape, and the shoes are half oval shaped styro foams painted with black ink spray. Now the body needs to be a clock of course, to show the time passing from autumn to spring, round and round every year. The clock is Sizzix weathered clock applied on a wooden platform that is again applied on a round styro foam. One side with a wooden arm and warm yellow/red/orange leaves, living the hot summer and the other side is full of flowers in the color of the spring showers living the cold winter behind. As the Byrds’ song says: “to everything, there is a season… a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to reap…” And finally we come to the head, that meant to be the sun actually with that round face, which is en ephemera from 7 dots studio. The paper head is made from Prima marketing scrap. The wire between the 2 hands are connecting the seasons, and a little butterfly just goes from one to the other, because weather goes through a sort of a metamorphosis like a butterfly. Hope you enjoyed the new challenge, I love the theme. Please visit my fellow DT members, get inspired and join us at Anything but a card challenge blog. See you there!

I am swooning, I LOVE this. Each an every element ticks a box and I adore the little butterfly detail. Great to see what all those individual bits you teased us with last week have turned into. You seriously need an Etsy shop.
Lisette, I thought about it once, but then came another idea and I had to sit down to create and never arrived to click to Etsy 😉
This is simply adorable, Ruth! A great first project as a DT member!
Thanks Zsuzsa 🙂
What a wonderful piece encompassing the changing of the seasons. Great details such as making the arms different, too.
Thanks Heather!
So cool Ruth and so well thought out. I love everything about your doll. A great keepsake!
Thanks Roz!
Hi Ruth… I know I already commented on your project on our DT blog but had to send kudos to you once again. I just adore this little guy… I love his long legs !!!
Thanks Toni, I wasn’t sure if they aren’t too long, but when it was ready it looked perfect!
What a great piece for the challenge Ruth- very well thought out! I love your well seasoned character! xo
Like that he looks always trendy, spring or autumn no trouble, just turn your side lol! xox
This is a GREAT project Ruth! You won’t believe this but the journal page I am working on right now has the same sentiment you used from the Byrds…how funny is that! Hope you won’t be offended when it shows up, because mine is not half as cute as this!! You are so, so creative! Love it! Blessings 🙂
Thanks Felicia, you may join us at Anything but a card blog 😉
So much detail and thought went into making this wonderful doll. It fits the concept so well of changing seasons.
Thanks Neva for jumping over, 😉
