Fragile papers ATC

You know I am practicing with ATCs, somehow I am still not so confident on that tiny surfaces. So I made another run. This time for Paper Artsy’s Fragile Papers challenge:

I ended up with six, as I can never create only one. I was beginning with some purple card stock that I cut for ATCs. Then I collaged old book page and old music sheet on it.

I added some shades to the edge of my music sheet so I will get some dimension, and I distressed the edges. I splattered some acrylic ink and applied some texture paste with a stencil.

While they dried, I stamped Stampotique’s Lovely wings (#6129) on gelli prints made on tissue wrap.

I trimmed my wings. I applied them on the ATCs, two pairs on each. As I worked on tissue wrap I was able to curve the wings and make them dimensional (actually rolled them on a pencil). In the middle I added a simple embellishment line for the body.

The underneath wings are the first pull the above ones are the second. Here are the close-ups one by one:

So why don’t you give a try to play with some fragile papers?

  1. Ohhhh Ruth, Ruth, Ruth! I am in love with these ATC’S!!!! You did a stinking FABULOUS job with these guys! I love everything from the color and that slight texture to the AWESOME butterflies! They rock, my friend! You just did these up right and I will be looking at these over and over for awhile! So pretty! You have inspired me for future projects! 🙂 Blessings dear Ruth! 🙂

Hi Ruth, your ATCs are lovely, great colour scheme and images. You mentioned that you find it difficult working on a small scale, my favourite way is to work on an A3 sheet. Forget that they will be ATCs, create a background and then cut them up to size and add the details and a focal image.
This is great for making a Series of ATCs. Happy crafting, Angela x

I enjoy working on smallish surfaces like ATC’s, icards and postcards and fing it difficult to create on A4 and above. We are all so different thank goodness!

Your fragile paper ATC’s are beautiful the wings are amazing, love your project as always Ruth.

I have entered twice so far for the PA Challenge, been very inspired by this topic. It has captured a lot of crafters imaginations:-) xxx

These are just STUNNING, Ruth – I would never have thought you had an issue with size from the results. Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!

    • lerusho says:

Win, you know the issue is, that I always add another layer of textures, and another and another, and on an ATC the surface is so tiny, but had great fun 🙂
