The countdown – day 5

De Craftorij in the Netherlands has a fantastic end year celebration, a countdown of 10 days, when we can play around, get ideas. So today is day 5 and actually we had already 3 pretty different challenges. This time we need to sum up 2014 in one word. Well for me it was and it is still one word, a word that stands for 2014 and goes through to 2015 as The Word of the year. I journaled it, so I can remember that I dared in 2014 but I need to dare more in 2015.

I worked in my altered book. I used soft gel with the bubbles stencil to form my circles underneath. I coloured my spread with ecoline (lemon yellow and pastel blue).

Then I applied another layer of acrylic ink (red earth) to make my soft gel circles pop more. I used Sizzix torn notebook die to create the small circles at one side, here my circles are lifted with gel pen. I distressed the edges with distress ink. I used Stampotique Alphabities stamp with archival ink to stamp out my word: Dare. Finally I added some small triangles in the shape of a circle around my letters.

I am sharing my work with Journal 52 week 52 prompt circles.

If you want to check what the De Craftorij has to offer to you don’t forget to visit their online store. And if you feel like playing around why don’t you join the Facebook group and make your own creation, there is time till midnight!
