The countdown – day 8, 7 and 6

De Craftorij in the Netherlands has a fantastic end year celebration, a countdown of 10 days, when we can play around, get ideas. Yes, this time it was a three day countdown at once. We could learn how to create a little journal/book, here is the link to the original video. I made a journal about winter love that I called “Winter… And so the story goes”

I used gelli arts gel plate monotype prints for my pages.

I won’t explain how the book is bound, please feel free to click on the tutorial link. And I used embellishments, canvas fringe, 7 dots studios word stickers and of course Stampotique stamps to decorate my pages. Now let me show you my little journal page by page:

Winter… And so the story goes…

On my cover I made a collage from old book page and gelli print on tissue wrap. I added a canvas fringe, and some winter embellishments. On another piece of gelli print I stamped Winter with Alphabities (#6010).

You have stolen my heart

On the edge of the first page I used France’s design cube (#10012). The word sticker is applied on a gelli print and with brads it is fastened with a piece of black frame. My image is Daniel’s Tree topper (#6157) stamped on gelli print, applied on natural burlap with a snowflake embellishment.

believe in miracles

Here I used France’s design cube (#10012) all around. I stamped Daniel’s Piling things (#6176) on a contrasting gelli print, added a small ticket and a piece of a canvas fringe. Self altered washers are sitting under my word sticker.

My heart belongs to you

Here I added some background stamping with Josie’s In stitches (#8118). My word sticker is lifted with sienna shade. Under Daniel’s Heart shirt (#6046) there is a white thread and he got a warm hat from little cotton balls.

Roses are red, violets are blue…

And as you can see Large sunflowers (#9256) are orange, well there head, it is even embossed with black embossing powder to give the feeling of seed in it. Tiny bees (#3000) are buzzing around (that’s for my friend Lisette). The grass is Jo’s Swirl Stalks (#3028). A rusted paper clip sits on my canvas fringe that holds my stickers.

Sleepless Nights

A scrap collage is applied under my image, Daniel’s Candle (#6159). The word sticker is in the middle of a self altered oversized safety pin and a picture hanger is underneath it as an additional embellishment piece.

Romance is everything

Beloved Kamona (#6141) is attached to bundle of thread. And a piece of dolly hang underneath my word sticker, above it a single washer waits for some warm heart.

True love stories never have endings

Isn’t that true? My sticker pops with a canvas fringe from the red background. The edge is stamped with France’s design cube (#10012). A love story can’t be full without a heart so here comes France’s My heart (#10008) embossed with copper on gelli print.

But the truth is that my journal has an ending and that’s the back cover, where my old book page and gelli printed tissue wrap collage returns.

Hope you enjoyed my Winter Love Story.

I am sharing my journal with Stampotique designers challenge Anything goes week 4.
