Really, have you got snow already? We not, not yet, but who knows. So I was playing in my altered book to create a snowman. Warning: I used gloss gel medium to get the shining effect of the snow, so better get your sunglasses ready! Not!
And if you want to see what did I do here are the steps: First I applied some white gesso randomly.
Then I added a scrap collage, left overs, a half paper dolly, a piece of lace, a wooden button, a bit of a thread, snowballs from the snowball ribbon, stamping my snowman with archival ink (it must be my favourite of course from Stampotique originals, Snowy Fran #6127). And when I was ready I added my first colour layer with ecoline (pastel blue) for some shading.
One layer is of course not enough for me, so I added some frost with pearlescent acrylic ink (galactic blue).
But now my poor snowman was to cold, brrrr… so to warm Fran I coloured the scarf around the head with sundown magenta.
On the other side I added my text with letter stickers just under the button:
Got snow, man? It rocks, man!
I love Stampotique’s take on Christmas and I love what you have done with the snowman and your take on a snowy scene. It has that feel that you get after a really heavy snowfall and that moment that the sun starts to appear once it has stopped. No snow here yet š¦
Yeep, we need to wait till we can build a real one, so I go on playing with Stampotique ones š
I can feel that snow (and see it out the window, too)!
Lucky you, did you build a snowman already? š
No snow here but i did make 2 Altered Playing Cards for Claudine Criner’s Blog which feature Snow. Love your pages Ruth! š xxx
Thanks xox š
Yup got snow here too!! Love those cotton balls Ruth! heehee
And Jackie, did you build a Snowy Fran already? š
Luckily we don’t have snow Ruth, love the shine on the page
Come on Vicky, don’t tell me you don’t miss it… just a bit!
it’s nice if your home and you can play in it, but when I have to drive to work I hate it.
I know, but in the meanwhile I am car-less, as my old one didn’t make it through the technical control and I still didn’t find an other one, so let it snow… you know what only here š
Looks more like ice! I love your grungy snowman!
Thanks Zsuzsa, xox
