Furry friend

This time I felt like making a tag with my favorite furry friend for Sue‘s challenge birds or animals at Stampotique designers challenge. So here is my take:

Well I was beginning on a craft tag with a piece of paper collage from Prima marketing. I covered my collage with some gesso.

And then I had the feeling that this tag asks for some stitches and even for some more grunge texture. So I added the stitches and I had a piece of cambric on my table, so I used Lindy’s stamp gang sprays (cafรจ au lait and cattail copper brown).

Then I used France Papillon’s design cube to add some more texture stamping with red archival ink. Then I applied graphite texture paste through the harlequin stencil. While my tag was drying, I colorized a paper with Lindy’s stamp gang (golden sleigh bells and orange creamsicle) and stamped on it Daniel Torrente’s Kitty with black archival ink. Finally I used Alphabities to stamp miauw on the side and I make it pop with white gel pen. I added a cotton ribbon to my tag.

Hope you like cats as well, I am just in love with them.

This is stunning Ruth, I love all of your texture, and Kitty was one of my first (and one of my favourite) Stampotique stamps. Thanks so much for joining in with my challenge this week, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Sue xx

Adorable Ruth!! You use France’s cube in so many ways…I might have to get one too!! xoxo

  3. Super cute – I love the textures but I think it’s the colours of this tag that do it for me – that little pop of red amongst the neutrals is just perfect.

Lisette, when I thought about a furry friend I really wanted to have a natural feeling, so I tried to use only sort of earth colors, well also not to much paint, more texture to touch and feel. xxx

What appears at a quick glance to be a pretty simple tag really isn’t at all! Love all the texture you have managed to incorporate into this great piece, Ruth. The cambric, the stitching, the introduction of just a pop of color, and, of course, that furry friend all add up to fabulousness–if that is a word! So glad you remain a strong part of the Stampotique Designers’ Challenge following!
