Winged things

You remember in my last post I mentioned that when I was a little girl I used to fantasies that butterfly, nature cute little flying creatures are like magical fairies. If you see there wings from a distance you may identify with my childhood fantasy. I was so happy to dig back to that oldie-goldie of mine that I was further inspired to make a lay out. I found that beautiful mood board on Scrap around the world that moved my fantasy in fairy land.

I could see in front of my eyes sparkling shining copper colors and that warm yellowish browns.  I my lay out inspiration comes from Keren Tamir’s september Prima BAP.

So all set than go, here is my interpretation:

Are you interested in the process then stay, if you’d like to see some details you can jump straight to the end of my post. I used paper scraps from two different Prima stash (Time traveller and Sea shore). I arranged them randomly on my page.

I felt like adding some shading to the edges, so I used a chalk edger.

I used archival ink to add some stamping with my splattered mug stamp and with a heart cube stamp.

Since the new mixed media line of Prima was coming out I am in love with it, I try the soft gel with all kinds of different medias to mix with and till now I have to tell you it works perfectly. By the way I use soft gel also for glueing. So this time I mixed soft gel with crackle accent and with patina antique red paint. I applied my mixture with Finnabair’s elementals butterfly stencil. And there are my little fairies shining and bright like little stars. Then I colored my page with Lindy’s stamp gang sprays (golden sleigh bells and cattail copper brown).

Then of course came my image, the little Fairy sitting on a mushroom, she is a real autumn Fairy, don’t you think so? And from 7 dots studio the title “winged things” seemed to be the perfect match.

Next I missed some more nature decoration that I added from my Prima collections (item numbers #571931, #575106). And there was my autumn landscape with my winged Fairy. And now some “magical” details:

I am sharing my lay out with my friends at Art journal journey as well, there the theme this month is living beings.
