Vintage Journey is back with a new challenge: Use every stamp in a set.
Well when I think about using every and each stamp in a Tim Holtz set then I can come up with Tim Holtz’s genius technique of layering. I decided to make an art journal page using distress products, something else that is my favorite from Tim Holtz. I chose Warehouse district CMS124 set.
I used 3 stamps (map, curiosity dictionary, blueprint) from the set to stamp with distress embossing ink on my page and then I used clear embossing powder to create a resist image on my background. Then I colored my page with distress stains.
I added some shadow stamping with aged mahogany (one of the small texts) and I blended it into my background. I distressed my edges and I aged them with the same distress ink. The rest of the images I stamped on altered paper (I used distress ink to alter my paper). On one side of my spread I added my ticket and my airplane and the text.
Also for stamping my text I used distress ink (black soot). And on the other side of my spread I applied the 3 personages, the hand and the compass, and the rest of the text with black soot distress ink. I also cut a prize ribbon from Tim Holtz’s dies, I thought those three gentlemen deserve a prize there (it’s colored with distress paints).
Another fabulous background – love your choice of colours. The rosette is the perfect addition to the stamp set.
Thank you Lisette!
