To die for love

This journal page was inspired by m favorite book Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It’s a book full of emotions, it has such a warmth, it gives you that tropical feeling where nothing can go bad and yet… There is one sentence that says it all about love: “There’s no greater glory than to die for love.” Romantic, isn’t it? Didn’t you dream about the prince on the white horse as a little girl and suddenly that brave prince-knight would say: oh, there’s no greater glory… yes I had dreams, and then came the reality… still I can keep dreaming in my journal:

I always imagined love as a seed that will grow and grow to become a huge strong tree capable of standing in life’s storms (I loved writing essays as a teenager). So here I planted my seed. First I made a paper collage of some left overs from my table. And then I dropped some red acrylic ink stains on my collage.

The best thing in acrylic ink is that it covers but it’s transparent at the same time, it shines but it gives a deep matte color when it’s applied generously. So I covered my red cholera stains with some blue acrylic ink, I thought I would like to have that tropical sky.

Now it looks like the tropical rain and my stains became red flower spots. I like it, next color hmmm green it needs some green..

So there’s is that green growing from my love seed. Looks nice but still missing some more colors to my tropical combo, maybe orange and yellow… yes the sun shine colors.

Now it looks warm and loving and even caring. I added my text and tadaaah:

I am sharing my spread with Journal 52 prompt: Book inspiration.

I really like your art journal page!
And also I really like the book you refer to! Gabriel García Márquez is one of the writers that I like the most, and “Love in the Time of Cholera” one of his books that I liked.
