A call to art

On April 14 in Nigeria more than 200 girls were kidnapped by a radical group that believes that girls or women shouldn’t be educated, they shouldn’t dare to dream about becoming anything else but wives and mothers. They should be kept in darkness, covered and closed away from the world, sold for slavery like in the middle ages. Heart breaking story, isn’t it… hard to believe but it can still happen nowadays!

On May 15 artists from all over the world are coming together to post, tweet and to create around this event, to let people know that women and girls have right to education. You may join us with spreading the word or if you feel like donate an artwork to the auction. Details are underneath:

You are also invited to check back on May 15 for the reveal of the full work, and the list of the blog participants.
