Feel the warmth…

Feel the warmth… was inspired by Prima marketing may’s product pick. I was falling in love with the soft colors and shades, and since I got my first package of color bloom spray mists, I can’t stop playing with them, so I created this mixed media canvas:

Feel the warmth…

As the weather getting better and the summer is closing up, we should all feel some warmth twinkling from inside. I was beginning with a simple canvas, where I applied my first puzzle pieces, some soft lace and old newspaper collage.

Then I pulled out my drawer with all kinds of paper left-overs and I continued to add to my collage, layering and layering… and finally colorizing with those beautiful color bloom spray mists. These were the first two colors:

I can already feel the summer with those colors, but the texture freak inside me says go on, add to it, you know yourself, don’t you?

And that was the next layer, sorbet yellow with modeling paste, grunge lines and circles and butterflies. Now I wanted some image, oh girl, you always want… so I found that annoyingly perfect face, just what I need next to my grunge, and I melted her in with some yellow iron oxide and burnt sienna, what finally I softened with some gesso.

Oh I felt like I am missing a breeze, so I added some teal blue color bloom. Finally I added embellishments around my image and some text. At the end I still wanted to add some pink, to soften and lighten my canvas. Here some small details:

Hope you can feel the warmth, the summer coming and get enough sunshine before it becomes burning.

Iam sharing my mixed media canvas with Prima marketing PP may challenge.
