Secret sorrows

Every one of us has down times, some shows it, some not, some like to live through it in solitude, some like to share it. But I don’t think that affliction let it be physical or emotional falls upon us to make us feel pity, on the other hand, it’s there to make us wiser, to make us stronger and at the end to make us smile.

Secret sorrows

“…every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not, often times we call a man cold when he is only sad…” Henry W. Longfellow.

Chinese ink, Stampotique originals, metal embellishments.

I am sharing my ‘secret sorrows’ with Stampotique designers challenge: monochromatic and Mixed Media Place challenge: sadness.

As artists, and art journalists in particular, we tend to chronicle happier times or funny moments in our work. But, it is equally important to create art about the more serious side of life and the “quieter” moments. You have done that beautifully today in this piece. Thanks for reminding us–and for joining us at Stampotique again this week, Ruth!
