Patricia Lasoen was born in Brugge, Belgium. She debuted in 1968 with The design for a Japanese wood engraving. According to the critics she is a “magical-realist” poet, though she doesn’t consider realism an essential part of her work, her inspiration comes from the daily reality, but she adds a personal touch to it like an understatement. Her works are often socially engaged. The white inside (De witte binnenkant) was written in 1980-82, different colors are introduced with personal feelings and memories.
