Beyond the body by Imme van der Haak

This project is made by Imme van der Haak a young Dutch artist born in Arnhem, graduated from Artez in 2010, presently living and studying for her MA in London.

Beyond the Body is a perception of appearance and identity. Photos of the human body are printed onto transparent silk which is creating the possibility of physically layering different body’s, ages, generations and identities. In a dance performance, the moving body manipulates the fabric so the body and the silk become one, distorting our perception or revealing a completely new physical form. Amazing images are coming to live like sort of Illusions.

Beyond the Body is going to be shown during the London Design Week in september 2012.
