Project Bizarre portrait studies / inspiration V.

Today I have a painter from the list. Mark Ryden is a “Pop Surrealistic” American painter. Ryden is treading a fine line between nostalgic cliché and disturbing archetype. The viewer is confronted with the childhood innocence and the mysterious recesses of the soul.

The key words are “innocence” and “mystery”. Sound simple, isn’t it? But is it really so simple in the concept of photography?
